پنجاب کے 20 حلقوں میں ضمنی انتخابات کیلئےپولنگ کا عمل مکمل ہوگیا ہے جس کے بعد ووٹوں کی گنتی جاری ہے ۔ مختلف حلقوں سے غیرحتمی اور غیر سرکاری نتائج کاسلسلہ جاری ہے۔
پولنگ کاعمل صبح8 بجے شروع ہوا جو بغیر کسی وقفے کے شام پانچ بجے تک جاری رہا۔پانچ بجے کے بعد پولنگ اسٹیشن کے اندر موجود افراد کو اپنا ووٹ ڈالنے کی اجازت دی گئی۔ تمام20حلقوں میں175 امیدواروں کے درمیان مقابلہ ہو ا۔بزرگ شہریوں اور خواتین نےبھی انتخابی عمل میں بھر پورحصہ لیا اوراپنا حق رائے دہی استعمال کیا۔ مجموعی طور پر انتخابی ماحول پُر امن رہا ۔ پولنگ کے دوران امن و امان کی فضاء برقرار رکھنے کےلئےباون ہزار سے زائد پولیس اہلکار تعینات کئے گئے۔حساس پولنگ اسٹیشنز پر رینجرز اور پاک فوج کے جوان بھی الرٹ تھے۔پنجاب کے جن چودہ اضلاع میں ضمنی انتخابات ہوئےان میں لاہور، راولپنڈی، خوشاب ، بھکر، فیصل آباد، شیخوپورہ،ساہیوال، ملتان، بہاولنگر، لیہ ، ڈیرہ غازی خان ، جھنگ ، مظفر گڑھ اور لودھراں شامل ہیں۔
